BibGenie runs as a local plugin within your Zotero application. When you use custom models (BYOK), requests go directly from your computer to the provider you configure. Your PDFs and data are not uploaded to BibGenie's servers by default.

Credits are the unit of consumption for AI interactions in BibGenie. Complex tasks like deep paper reading, multi-paper comparisons, or using web search consume more credits. The Free plan provides 50 credits monthly.
